Gordon Brothers offers the opportunity to acquire certain intellectual property assets held by Newcells Biotech Limited (in Administration) (“Newcells”), a pioneering biotechnology company specialising in the development of advanced human tissue-based 3D in-vitro models that improve the predictability of drug discovery and clinical development.

Newcells developed and commercialised a portfolio of proprietary kidney, lung and retina models that replicate human tissue physiology with high fidelity, enabling pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to assess drug safety, efficacy and disease mechanisms more accurately than traditional cell lines and animal models.

Following the sale of assets relating to Newcells’ retina business, a number of Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) relating to its kidney and lung models have been retained and are available for acquisition.

SOPs capturing proprietary knowledge generated over a number of years relating the development of in-vitro kidney and lung models.

Kidney Model: differentiated performance over traditional cell lines and animal models in predicting kidney safety and drug transport, including screening for chronic kidney disease and nephrotoxicity.

Lung Model: optimised for high-throughput screening for lung toxicity using advanced imaging technologies, making it suitable for large-scale drug discovery applications.

These SOPs can be leveraged to develop and scale new models or be tailored to customers’ requirements.

  – Lung Models, including:

    -Assay development
